Legacy Park sketchbook
Leslie Stone Associates on the interpretive component of Malibu's Legacy Park, providing illustrations for panels and designing a series of large mosaic animal sculptures.
Mosaic-artist Robin Indar created the sculptures using colors and materials representative of Malibu's particular art and craft heritage - for a stunning added dimension.
The park encompasses four coastal habitats – including Southern California’s only coastal prairie – and was designed in part to serve as a living learning center. A series of interpretive nodes present the plants and animals representative of those coastal habitats.
Legacy Park won an Honor Award for Design in the Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space category from the American Association of Landscape Architects.
